About Me…always learning…

Nancy Moscardini has been involved in multimedia, before the word was created.

I have a Bachelor of Art degree in Communications with an Option in Broadcasting from Cal State Hayward. Since then, I have furthered my education at Silicon Valley College & Ohlone College.  Currently, a lot on my own, via books, magazines, online videos and training DVDs.

It all started at Chabot when a friend of mine from high school, (who later became my brother-in-law) told me about a class that was an easy “A”.

I was planning to major in drama, but I thought, sure why not. “Its a television class, the most you will have to do is pick up a cable.” he said.  Once I stood behind the camera,  that was it- no turning back. Over half my family is in photography -earlier generations were in television and radio, so maybe its was in the blood- ready to be discovered.

While at Mervyn’s -I was one of those friendly bill collectors,- I was loaned out to help the video department and work on an interactive bi-lingual credit kiosk. It ran on the fastest pc out there- a 486!! Back in 88, this was hot stuff. I still have the master laser disk. (Its so large you can use it as a turkey platter.) This was my first foray into interactivity, I loved how video, audio, graphics and touch screen technology can be used together to create a unique piece of media. Ever since then, I try to learn as much as I can about technology and how it can communicate and educate an audience. My first videos were the standard wedding variety but I soon fell in love creating training videos.

My next adventure is to create interactive pieces for the web that engages an audience. I’ve done some  pieces for the retail and semiconductor industries, but not enough to quench my desire.
